Experience the atmospheric beauty of Northern Lights, composed and performed live by Jan Depreter on the Gufra UD Cedar Double Top classical guitar. Official sheet music and recording information inside.

Lyrical Soundscapes and Shimmering Harmonics

We are proud to share a truly evocative live performance: Belgian guitarist and composer Jan Depreter performing his celebrated original composition, Northern Lights, played live on the Gufra UD.

Inspired by the luminous, ethereal beauty of the Aurora Borealis, Northern Lights is a cornerstone of contemporary classical guitar literature. The piece weaves crystalline natural harmonics, singing treble lines, and expansive bass resonances into a hypnotic atmospheric journey.

A Symphony of Timbre and Sustain

Performing his own work on the Gufra UD Cedar Double-Top, Jan Depreter showcases the instrument’s immense tonal palette and lingering sustain. The guitar’s responsive cedar top breathes life into the opening quiet harmonics while maintaining full-bodied warmth during the piece’s sweeping, emotional climaxes.
