The double-top concept, pioneered by German masters Matthias Dammann and Gernot Wagner,represents a milestone in modern guitar making. This innovative technique bonds two ultra-thin solid-wood soundboards to a lightweight Nomex honeycomb core under vacuum pressure, creating a top that is both
lighterand structurally stronger than atraditional single plate.
The result is dramatically increased vibrational efficiency, yielding greater projection, wider dynamic range, and enhanced responsiveness. At the same time, the Nomex core reduces the natural variability of wood, ensuring exceptional consistency from instrument to instrument.The sound retains the warmth and tonal sweetness of a traditional guitar while offering the power, clarity, and dynamic control demanded by the modern concert stage.
